Wal-Mart Gets Ready to Meet the Fast Growing Demand

An expanded distribution center in northern China is ready for use

Wal-Mart, the world’s leading retailer, made its grand entrance into China in 1996. As of today, there are 91 stores in 49 cities.

The current distribution centers are located in ShenZhen, a coastal city in southern China, and TianJin, north of Yangtze River. With the growing demand, the TianJin distribution center underwent an expansion which has been recently completed. The expanded distribution center can handle up to 330,000 packages per day, which quadrupled its original capacity, and serves up to 90 stores.
