Procurement and Supply Chain Training Moves Forward

ISM announces registration for Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) certification in pilot program

The Institute of Supply Management offers pilot program through ISM affiliates and participating companies on-site in February and March of 2008.  The new certification encompasses a broader set of competencies for enriching supply chain professionals.

Topics include Distribution, Inventory Control, Logistics, Procurement, Transportation, Strategic Sourcing, and others.

The current Certified Purchasing Manager(CPM) designation will be offered until 2009 and a CPSM bridge exam to convert current CPM is available until 2014.

CPSM Certification involves passing three exams covering the Foundation of Supply Management, Effective Supply Management Performance, and Leadership in Supply Management, five years of working experience, and a 4 year degree.

Sufficiently supporting the education of supply chain employees enhances the profession and provides the skills necessary to make accurate and profitable decisions.
