Is Dubai the gateway for the Middle East? | Global companies have started to put warehouses in Dubai, UAE. Dubai is a key location for business in the Middle East. ProLogis will build its first Warehouse in the Middle East. They have agreed to build a 798,000 square feet warehouse in Dubai for Aramex, a total transportation solution provider. The warehouse will be located in Dubai’s Logistics City (DLC) which is 20 minutes from Port of Jebel Ali, the seventh largest container port in the world. Jeff Schwartz, chairman and CEO of ProLogis stated "Dubai, which benefits from a centralized location and immediate access to major modes of transport, is quickly becoming a gateway to the Middle East, with DLC set to serve as one of the largest supply chain communities in the world. Having a presence in this rapidly growing global logistics hub will enable us to become part of this burgeoning economic environment, and we are confident continued infrastructure development will drive further demand for our modern distribution space." Canon has recently opened a warehouse in Dubai for its Middle East operations.
