China’s Rapid Development Strategy

The Lingang industrial zone is located in Lingang New City, which is 25 kilometers north of the Pudong International Airport and 32 kilometers south of the Yangshan Deepwater Port. The location provides easy access to many modes of transportation such as: ocean, air, river, highway, and railway.

The industrial zone consists of equipment manufacturing bases for:

• Ship spare parts

• Automobiles and spare parts

• Power generator and transmission equipment

• Ocean engineering equipment

• Harbor machinery

The future zone development is to build new manufacturing bases for:

• Aircraft and aircraft engine

• Rail transit

• Airborne equipment manufacturing.

To further the zone development, the government will “provide independent innovation projects with more support in site selection, land and related services, so as to encourage the ability for independent innovation, creating a better investment environment for the companies as well as their personnel.”
