| December 03, 2007 | | Shamrock Foods implemented a Bluetooth based system to help workers in the warehouse pick the product and pick it accurately. | Using Bluetooth technology in a warehouse can improve the efficiency and accuracy of a warehouse. Shamrock Foods invested 300,000 EUR in the first voice directed warehouse in Ireland. Shamrock Foods deployed a Bluetooth-based Vocollect system in a 225,000 square foot warehouse in Dublin, Ireland. The system eliminates work lists and gives instructions to warehouse personnel through a headset, using Vocollect’s ‘text to speech’ engine. The warehouse worker will give confirmation to the system which uses Vocollect’s voice recognizer. Ron Clinton, managing director of Heavy RF stated “voice logistics has really transformed how products are moved in the supply chain. The use of the natural voice to carry out and confirm tasks accurately and promptly permits a much more seamless operation for Shamrock Foods.” | | |
