The Supply Chain Leadership Collaboration is working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions

The SCLC, containing 11 companies, is currently working with 50 of their suppliers to reduce carbon emissions. In phase two the number of suppliers will increase up to 2,000 per company.

Eleven global companies are working with their suppliers to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.  The companies are part the Supply Chain Leadership Collaboration (SCLC). The project is being run by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), a UK based non-profit organization.  Some of the participants are, Cadbury Schweppes, Dell, Nestle, PepsiCo, Proctor & Gamble and Tesco.

In the pilot phase each company has chosen 50 of their suppliers to work with. The CDP will publish a recommendation after the first phase which will include a standardized approach to cut emissions.  Starting in May the second phase will begin which will expand up to 2,000 suppliers from each organization. Additional companies will be invited to join the SCLC during the second phase.
