Winter Chaos across China

Heaviest snows in the past five decades as it wreaked havoc on traffic across the country

Brutal winter weather has brought heavy snow and sleet across the country over the weekend. The government has issued a severe weather warning as the snowfall is forecasted to continue in many areas. The weather has caused chaos throughout the country.  The direct economic cost is estimated to be $3.2 billion.

Several highways and airports were closed in numerous provinces.  Some have reopened; however, many still remain closed. The railways continue to operate on a normal schedule with only a few delays. 

The severe weather has caused problems with companies supply chains.
