Tainted dumplings were not poisoned in China

Xinhua News Agency reported that the tainted dumplings sold in Japan were not poisoned at the production plant in China.

A team of investigators from China and Japan visited the production facility in North China and found no abnormalities. Packages from the same batches were also tested and there were no traces of pesticide.

Wei Chuanzhong, deputy chief of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, expressed that “China wants investigators to find and report the real cause of the poisoning as soon as possible to reduce the damage the incident has done to relations between the nations.”
