Cargo traffic at Tacoma and Olympia ports

The line of rail cars goes back to Montana waiting to get to the ports of Tacoma and Olympia. There is hope that a logistics park can be created on prairie land.

The ports of Tacoma and Olympia are looking into building a rail yard to temporarily hold rail cars which are going to the ports.  Currently the rail cars are sitting on rails through Montana, waiting to arrive at the ports.  According to the article “There's no place to temporarily park an 8,000-foot line of rail cars stacked with shipping containers near the Pierce County port.”

Environmentalists do not want them to create a logistics park on the prairie, which they believe should be preserved.
