Volvo Trucks North America implements a new program for emergency parts

Volvo Trucks North America will not be charging its customers for emergency parts coming from one of its parts warehouses. Volvo expects 90 percent of their parts to be at the dealers.

Volvo Trucks North America and subsidiary Mack Trucks have eliminated the freight costs for emergency shipments from their parts warehouses.  This program took effect in mid-January in the United States and will become effective by the end of March in Canada.  The program allows customers to place orders and get the product the next day.  Volvo is implementing this policy because they have a goal of over 90% inventory at the dealers.  Joy Johnson, director of parts support for Volvo stated "if the part is not at the dealer, but is in our industry-leading PDC network, it will be shipped overnight with no freight charge for the customer."

Parts can now be ordered after working hours for next day delivery and on Saturday for a Monday delivery.  Parts which are over 150 pounds will also apply to the no freight charge rule even though they are being shipped LTL.

Volvo Truck North America believes in its dealers and its network that they can meet the customer demand and keep customer satisfaction high.
