With On-highway diesel prices increasing what will happen to you FSC

The on-highway diesel fuel price has reached a record high of $3.66 a gallon this week. The fuel surcharge will be affected by this increase.

According to the Energy Information Administration, on-highway diesel fuel reached a record high of $3.66 a gallon this week, which is more than $.10 higher than last week.  In certain regions, such as New England, Central Atlantic and California prices have gone above $3.80.  There is a fear that the high prices will put the small LTL and TL carriers out of business, and decrease the current overcapacity.

With the increasing costs of fuel everyone who ships via TL, LTL or parcel will feel the effects through their fuel surcharge (FSC).  Carriers will try to make up the difference in fuel by increasing their FSC.
