China Green Supply Chain Insight

Potential Logistics and Transportation Applications for Air Powered Vehicles
Anyone that has at least visited China will come to the conclusion that there is an urgent need to reduce pollution in the transportation industry. By reducing waste and the associated environmental impacts of logistics activities companies will be able to benefit both society and improve their cost and service levels.

I wanted to share an exciting product which is beginning to gain market entry in Europe. It is now possible to purchase an urban vehicle which produces ZERO pollution and which runs off plain air! It sounds too good to be true. Please check out the company website at: http://www.theaircar.com/index.html

Creative supply chain and logistics proffessionals should begin thinking of ways this type of vehicle can be used in logistics and transportation.

China enourages the development of clean and fuel efficient vehicles in an effort to sustain continued growth of the country's automobile industry. By the end of 2007, China plans to reduce the average fuel consumption per 100 km for all types of vehicles by 10%. The proportion of vehicles buring alternative fule will be increased to help optimize the country's energy consumption. Priority will be given to facilitating the research and development of electric and hybrid vehicles as well as alternative fuel vehicles, especially CNG/LNG. Major cities like Beijing and Shanghai already require Euro III emission standards. (Source: Buyusa.gov)
