| November 14, 2007 | | ProLogis pre-leases a 269,000 square foot warehouse outside of Stockholm, Sweden. Is Sweden a strategic location for a regional warehouse? | Determining the optimal location for your distribution is important not only for costs but for service as well. ProLogis, the world’s largest owner, manager and developer of distribution centers is building warehouses outside of Stockholm, Sweden. Schenker Logistics, a 3PL provider, has pre-leased a 269,000 square foot (25,000 square meters) warehouse from ProLogis. The facility is located in the industrial area of Casta Arlandastad, in the city of Sigtuna, 36 kilometers north of the Stockholm international airport. Construction of the building will begin in 2008. The space is expandable to 366,000 square feet (34,000 square meters). Schenker Logistics will consolidate their other operations in Stockholm into the new facility. Asgeir Torfason, marker officer for ProLogis in Sweden stated, “More and more customers with pan-European distribution requirements are realizing the strategic importance of Sweden as a region distribution hub.” | | |
