Customs process becomes more efficient between China and Europe

China and European countries implemented a pilot project to increase the speed of the customs process on imported solid waste.

Chinese and European customs launched a pilot project to speed up the customs process on imported solid waste on Monday, November 19, 2007. The project will focus on the process to clear ocean containers with imported solid waste between Rotterdam in the Netherlands, Felixstowe in England, and Shenzhen, China. According to the plan, as stated by the People’s Daily Online, “the three countries will try to align security standards, upgrade technology, exchange more information and accelerate the release of goods at customs.”

Ten Chinese companies and 10 Europeans companies will be involved in the project, and the elapsed time is 9 to 12 months. With the success of the project, the project will extend to other ports in Europe and China.
