| January 18, 2008 | | FedEx Freight and FedEx National both improve service levels by improving service times to customers. | FedEx Freight announced that it has improved service in several markets, and FedEx National has improved its on-time service by re-engineering its network. FedEx Freight has reduced transit time from Las Vegas, NV to specific areas in California, Vancouver British Columbia and areas in the Pacific Northwest from 2 days to next day service. Service time has been improved due to changes in the dispatch schedule and having more volume to specific destinations where shipments can skip hubs. With FedEx Freight Canada, established in 2007, the service to Vancouver has improved. FedEx National will now focus on longhaul service and will complement FedEx Freight’s regional service. Douglas G Duncan, FedEx Freight President and CEO stated “FedEx National LTL now operates a strictly timed network, which ensures higher levels of certainty for [shippers].” Duncan stated other benefits from the improvements from FedEx Freight and FedEx National are that they “provide all points coverage in both regional and long-haul LTL sectors.” | | |
