Six companies form the Reliance Network

The Reliance Network will provide LTL, TL and supply chain freight services to their customers.

Effective March 1st six regional carriers will form an alliance called The Reliance Network.  The carriers include: Averitt Express, Canadian Freightways/Epic Express, DATS Trucking, Lakeville Motor Express, Land Air Express of New England, and Pitt Ohio Express.  The Reliance Network will provide Less-Than-Truckload (LTL), Truckload (TL), and supply chain freight services.

Benefits include:

  • Complete coverage of the US, Canada and Mexico
  • Improved transit times
  • Working with local transportation specialist for all shipments
  • Over 25,000 tractors and trailers
  • Shipment visibility throughout the network
  • Secure data management

Analyst Chris Brady, president of Commercial Motor Vehicle Consulting (CMVC), stated “with the alliance, a carrier can offer their customers service beyond their operational regions.  They couldn’t do that before. Maybe, if it was a good customer, they may have made a deal with an outside owner-operator. But now they have a service they can go to.”  He also stated that an alliance of 6 companies will be difficult.  Brady added: “The more partners, the more likely there will be problems.  Success will come down to how easily they can work together.”
