Dallas area to add 6,000 acre hub to foreign trade zone

The addition to the Dallas Logistics hub will create the largest foreign trade zone in the nation. The completion of the hub is expected to be 30 years. The economic impact to the region is significant with $5.4 billion and creation of 60,000 jobs.

The current trade zone 39 is expected to add a 6,000 acre hub in the southern Dallas area.  This will in turn boost the economy in the region.  The addition planned by Allen Group, the developer of Dallas Logistics Hub, will allow companies to use the free trade zone because imports and exports are not taxed or duty payments can be deferred.

The hub is in a very good location.  The Union Pacific intermodal facility is adjacent, near four major highways and the Lancaster airport.
