European Routes Required to Move to New Yangshan Deep Water Port

Shanghai Europe Trade Affected by Expected Shanghai Port Authority Ruling
I spoke with the Shanghai Port Authority (SIPG) today. They haven't officially published this information, but have already notified the shipping lines handling Europe China trade that they must move their operations from Baoshan to the new Yangshan Deep Water port by the end of 2005.

Companies sourcing in China and shipping to Europe should be aware of this new development. It is important to assess whether the changes will affect the cost and services levels of your global supply chain. What are the potential bottlenecks? Has your 3PL or freight forwarder notified you of the new changes that will take place? It is possible that costs of service will increase? Will your 3PL absorb these costs, or pass them on to you?
