The first integrated road network linking from Singapore to China will be completed early 2008

Countries in <place w:st="on">Asia</place> have high logistics spending on domestic goods due to the absence of homogenous and well-connected road transportation network. Currently, the countries in Asia spend 20 to 30 percent on logistics compared to the typical 10 percent in the <country-region w:st="on">United States</country-region> and the countries in <place w:st="on">Europe</place>.  The TNT Asia Road Network is the first integrated network to link 125 cities across 6 countries (<country-region w:st="on">Singapore</country-region>, <country-region w:st="on">Malaysia</country-region>, <country-region w:st="on">Thailand</country-region>, <country-region w:st="on">Laos</country-region>, <country-region w:st="on">Vietnam</country-region>, <country-region w:st="on">Cambodia</country-region>, and <country-region w:st="on"><place w:st="on">China</place></country-region>). The first two phases of the project have been completed, and the network currently serves <country-region w:st="on">Singapore</country-region>, <country-region w:st="on">Malaysia</country-region>, <country-region w:st="on">Thailand</country-region>, <country-region w:st="on">Vietnam</country-region> and <country-region w:st="on"><place w:st="on">Cambodia</place></country-region>. The last phase, linking <city w:st="on">Danang</city>, <country-region w:st="on">Vietnam</country-region> to <place w:st="on"><city w:st="on">Naning</city>, <country-region w:st="on">China</country-region></place>, is set to be completed by early 2008.
