Toyota announced to build the first Plug-In Hybrid by 2010

<city w:st="on"><place w:st="on">Toyota</place></city> has been the leader in the auto industry to protect the environment. After the popular Toyota Prius, <city w:st="on">Toyota</city> announced at the <city w:st="on"><place w:st="on">Detroit</place></city> auto show on Sunday that the company will build its first plug-in hybrid by 2010. The plug-in hybrid will run on lithium-ion batteries which can be recharged externally from an ordinary power outlet. It can run up to 62 miles per hour, before using gasoline, which is a significant increase from 30 miles per hour for the conventional Prius. The plug-in hybrids will be first available to commercial customers, but there is no release date set for consumers. Additional to whether consumers are willing to plug in their car, there is still one concern to <city w:st="on"><place w:st="on">Toyota</place></city>: the environment. Driving a plug-in hybrid is a way to save on gasoline, but where is the electricity coming from?
