Guangdong provinces will discontinue issuing license to vehicle that cannot meet stage III emission standard starting July 1

After increasing the nation’s emission standard in <city w:st="on" />Beijing</city /> and <place w:st="on" /><city w:st="on" />Shanghai</city />, <state w:st="on" />Guangdong</state /></place /> province will being transitioning to the new standards starting July 1. The government website has announced that <state w:st="on" /><place w:st="on" />Guangdong</place /></state /> will discontinue issuing licenses to vehicles that cannot meet the stage III emission standard, which is equivalent to the EU III standards. A 30 percent reduction of pollutants is expected as the result. To date, there are more than 13 million vehicles in <state w:st="on" /><place w:st="on" />Guangdong</place /></state />, and the number is growing rapidly.
