HAZMAT Products Can be Stored at WBLP Starting in September

According to insider information at the Shanghai Waigaoqiao Bonded Logistics Park (WBLP) companies will be allowed to store hazardous cargo inside the zone beginning this September.

However, hazardous cargo cannot be stored inside the warehouse. The HAZMAT cargo must be kept inside the container yard in the park.

Companies dealing with hazardous cargo must determine whether it is to their strategic advantage to locate hazardous cargo inside the WBLP.

Also, they must determine if it is more beneficial to use the Zhangjiagang BLP which is more friendly towards hazardous cargo. Companies in Zhangjiagang can store hazardous goods inside assigned warehouses, as opposed to in Shanghai where hazardous goods can only be kept in the container yard.
